Silica Sol Investment Casting

What is Silica Sol Investment Casting?

Silica sol investment casting is a precision metal forming process that utilizes colloidal silica as a binder for ceramic molds. The process consists of the shells building up around wax patterns with layers of silica sol, zircon powder, and zircon sand. The fine grained molds made from these materials withstand high temperature (2000°C) and have resulted in castings with the good dimensional accuracy, a superior surface finish, and a precise reproduction of even complex features.

Why Use Silica Sol Investment Casting?

Our mid-temperature wax silica sol process solves the core problems of water glass casting: alkaline pollution, surface pitting defects, and limited material options, while offering higher precisions and reliability for critical industrial parts.
