Step-by-Step Investment Casting Process
Our investment casting process integrates advanced technology, precision, and strict quality control to create components that exceed industry standards. Here’s how we bring your designs to life:
Step 1: 3D Casting Simulation
We use advanced simulation software to analyze material flow, cooling behavior, and predict potential defects, ensuring optimized designs before physical production.
Step 2: Wax Injection (Pattern Creation)
Molten wax is injected into precision metal molds to create highly accurate wax patterns, ensuring intricate details and dimensional accuracy for casting.
Step 3: Assembly (Treeing)
Individual wax patterns are carefully assembled into wax trees, optimizing the structure for efficient multi-part casting during the ceramic shell-making process.
Step 4: Shell Building (Dipping and Coating)
Our two fully automated shell-making lines complete 6-7 layers in an average of 35 hours, improving efficiency by over 80% compared to manual processes.
Step 5: Dewaxing
The ceramic shell is heated in an autoclave or furnace to melt and remove the wax, leaving a hollow shell.
Step 6: Shell Firing
The ceramic shell is fired at high temperature (up to 1500°C) to remove any residue and to strengthen the shell.
Step 7: Metal Pouring
Molten metal, such as stainless steel or alloys, is poured into pre-heated ceramic molds, achieving precision and uniform properties throughout the casting.
Step 8: Cooling and Shell Removal
After cooling and solidification, ceramic shells are carefully broken away, revealing raw castings ready for finishing and further processing.
Step 9: Cutting & Gate Removal
The raw castings are separated from gating and runner systems. This step prepares the individual components for subsequent processes by removing excess material.
Step 10: Straightening & Reshaping
Castings are straightened using manual or hydraulic methods to correct deformations caused by cooling or internal stresses, ensuring dimensional conformance.
Step 11: Heat Treatment
Castings are heat-treated to improve mechanical properties such as hardness, durability, and strength, meeting application-specific performance requirements.
Step 12: CNC Machining
Heat-treated castings are machined using CNC equipment to meet precise dimensional tolerances and complex geometric specifications as defined in the design.
Step 13: Surface Finishing
Castings undergo final surface treatments, including polishing, plating, and coating, to improve aesthetics, corrosion resistance, and usability for their intended applications.
Step 14: Final Inspection & Delivery
All parts are inspected for dimensional precision, defects, and material consistency before secure packaging and delivery to customers, accompanied by detailed test reports.
